/ghost/ was a great extension to /jp/.

What has been happening as we've went through /jp/'s death is that /ghost/ turned into something else. /ghost/ is a completely separate entity now that lives vicariously through feeding off the butchered shit left by janjan.

It used to be everyone would talk on /jp/, and /ghost/ was for continuing any discussion and joking about meta stuff. Without the first part, the entire system just gets destroyed. What is the archive then for?

1) It seems people crowd in select threads which continue on with long discussions, like the NEET thread. This used to happen on /jp/ not ghost.

2) Someone who is banned, or for whatever reason, makes a reply to someone on /jp/ from /ghost/, when there's no reason it shouldn't be on /jp/.

3) Laugh about how epic this new funpost was that got almost no replies on /jp/, and was deleted very fast. These threads used to be able to stay up for a decent amount of time on /jp/ and get a bunch of replies, and only then people would continue on warosu or whatever.

https://warosu.org/jp/?task=search2&ghost=...search_res=post

Here's /jp/ on September 5th 2011.

It's not the generals that killed it, it's that everything else is deleted to preserve them. /jp/ is /a/'s /vg/.

/jp/ has been shit since it was made. it was created to be a garbage can, but no one even knows what kind of garbage goes in it. no one invited idolfags but they showed up and wouldn't leave. we were stuck with a misleading name for years which brought in autists who make dozens of threads posting trains stations and shit that has nothing to do with otaku culture. jrpg threads live and die based on janny's moods. the board really is /janny's playground/.

of course the greatest irony is that almost all of the things that /jp/ was created as a dumping ground for are back on /a/ with daily threads.
